Supplier to Turkey's top architects and developers including Sapphire, Rixos Bomonti and Savoy Ulus, Gökhan Ayaydin's Maslak Yapi showroom occupies 1000 sq m in Gayrettepe, Istanbul. The world's largest distributor of Scic kitchens increased its product lines and offered a full design service. Italian brands Lema, Flexform, Porada, Mood and Fendi Casa were brought in. Based on her work for Savoy Ulus, Miriam Dominguez-Guerra transformed a bland and colourless space into a statement destination. The large floor area was divided and warmth and intimacy created with dark, smoky hues and soft direct light, textured wallpapers, curtain partitions and partial carpeting over existing wooden flooring. Miriam's design inspired the suppliers who permitted the mixing of products with the other brands. Key elements were a reception desk in organic leather and laminated wood, a bespoke cabinet displaying kitchen materials and taps, and stunning original artwork by celebrated artist, Ismail Acar. Bold chrome signage and smart dark grey canopies completed the exterior. Miriam's has been advising on Maslak Yapi's new product lines at Settimana Del Mobile 2012 and the grand opening of the new showroom at the Biennale in Istanbul.
