Flats

A complete refurb of a grand C19th property overlooking the Botanical Gardens and Prado Museum. The property was flooded with light and retained the original windows, doors, moldings, brass fittings and marble bathrooms. Every room was custom-built and designed to a specific brief. Contemporary, bespoke furniture mingled with one-off pieces from flea markets in Europe and the USA, calm areas contrasted with bold swathes of patterned walls. The spacious entrance opened onto a quadrant with 4 columns leading to 2 living rooms, a dining room and a billiard room with a central art deco Ralph Lauren bar. Luxe matt navy walls contrasted with white doors and ceilings. Kitchen worktops were replaced by white marble and intimate seating was created with antiqued dark wood and bar stools against salvia walls. Idiosyncratic elements were introduced: architectural salvage pieces, lamps, a wooden plate rack, curtains and a stunning vintage tile wallpaper. From heavy curtains around the bath to a custom-designed skateboard bed, every detail perfectly reflected the needs and personality of her client.
